Shopify Migration
Migrations fail on the parts nobody demos: URLs, historical orders, subscription contracts and customer passwords. That is where our shopify migration services start, not where they end up.

01Overview
Anyone offering shopify migration services can move your product catalogue across in an afternoon. What determines whether the migration actually succeeds is what happens to the parts that don't show up in a demo: indexed URLs, subscription billing continuity, historical order data and customer accounts.
We start a migration with a field-level data inventory and a tested redirect map, then rehearse the entire move against a staging store before touching production. That rehearsal is where reconciliation gaps get caught, while they're still cheap to fix rather than discovered after go-live.
For subscription commerce or B2B accounts, continuity gets scoped explicitly rather than assumed — because a migration that ships the storefront but breaks recurring billing has not actually succeeded, whatever the launch page looks like.
02The problem
A migration that ships on time but loses organic search traffic, breaks subscription billing, or drops historical order data is a failed migration, however polished the new storefront looks on launch day.
03You will recognise this if
- You are leaving Magento, WooCommerce or BigCommerce
- A previous migration lost organic rankings
- Subscriptions or B2B accounts must survive the move
- Historical order data needs to remain accessible
- You have thousands of indexed URLs to preserve
04How we work on it
- 01
Data inventory
Products, variants, customers, orders, reviews, subscriptions and content mapped field by field against Shopify's data model before any export runs, so we know exactly what maps cleanly and what needs a decision.
- 02
Redirect map
Every indexed URL — including paginated and faceted collection paths — mapped to its Shopify equivalent and tested in staging, so organic rankings transfer instead of resetting to zero.
- 03
Dry runs
Full rehearsal migrations run against a staging store, with reconciliation reports comparing entity counts against source, catching gaps well before the real cutover.
- 04
Subscription and B2B continuity
Where recurring billing or wholesale accounts are involved, we plan the migration path for those specifically — this is where generic migration tools and generic agencies tend to fail.
- 05
Cutover runbook
A timed, reversible cutover plan with named owners, checkpoints and a documented rollback path, executed on a schedule the business has agreed to in advance.
- 06
Post-launch monitoring
Crawl and index monitoring for the first weeks after go-live, catching redirect gaps or crawl errors while they're still cheap to fix.

05What changes
- Organic rankings preserved
- Every indexed URL is mapped and tested in staging so search traffic transfers instead of resetting after launch.
- Reconciled before cutover
- Rehearsal migrations catch data gaps against a reconciliation report, not after the real cutover has happened.
- Reversible cutover
- A documented rollback path means a launch issue is a delay, not a crisis.
06How an engagement runs
- 01
Audit
Full inventory of the current platform's data model, indexed URLs and any subscription or B2B dependencies before scope is set.
- 02
Scope
Field-level data mapping and redirect strategy agreed in writing, with rehearsal migrations built into the timeline.
- 03
Delivery
Timed, reversible cutover executed against the runbook, followed by post-launch crawl and index monitoring.
